Child's play with paper: Paper and papier-mâché

Piggy banks, ducks, fish or penguins: with imagination and a willingness to try out new things, pieces of paper and wallpaper paste can be turned into fun sculptures or useful items. Each child can make his or her own character − with cotton wool, glitter or even moving eyes.

Activity: The pasting starts with a balloon, a bucket of paste and strips of newspaper. Once they have dried, the figures can be painted and modelled in the second session; old egg cartons are available for this which can be used for beaks or feet, for example.
