From October 2023 expected until the end of 2024 construction work will take place in the Leipzig building. This will impact user services, e.g. by making it necessary to close some of the reading rooms.

The winners of the architectural design competition for the German National Library's fifth extension in Leipzig have been selected.

At our inaugural workshop on 29 - 30 August, we will be celebrating a new year of DH fellowships and the start of the first year of the HERMES research study programme! This year, we will again be supporting research in the digital humanities and look forward to the presentation of a wide range of projects focusing on the data in our exile collection, machine learning in cataloguing processes and the anonymity of authors and translations into German.

The German National Library (DNB) will be present at this year’s annual conference of the GfM (German Musicological Society) with an information desk for the first time. The conference will take place from 11 to 14 September 2024 at the Cologne University of Music and Dance (HfMT) and the University of Cologne. During the conference, you will find us at the HfMT to inform you about working with our data and objects, our different programmes for supporting research in the field of digital humanities (e.g. our fellowships), and other opportunities for cooperation - come and visit us!
