DissOnline - Tutor

Objective

The objective of DissOnline tutor was to improve the technical quality of online dissertations liable to long-term preservation and to provide authors with tools for producing dissertations and post-doctoral publications. The project was created by the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE), with co-operating partners Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the German National Library. Academic writing tools are developed for the word-processing systems Microsoft Word, Open Office and StarOffice and for the LaTeX text document system, tips and training materials are provided (http://www.dissonline.de/eng/index.htm).

The DissOnline tutor project had three main objectives:

Improvement of the technical quality of electronic dissertations
Enhanced and permanent access to electronic dissertations
Development and dissemination of tools for the production and technical control of electronic dissertations
