Exilpresse digital - German-language exile journals 1933 - 1945

Objective

In this project, the German Exile Archive 1933 - 1945 (Deutsches Exilarchiv) of the German National Library digitised select exile newspapers and journals held by it, and supplemented by the Sammlung Exil-Literatur 1933 - 1945 of the German National Library and other german libraries. "Exilpresse digital" was German National Library's contribution as partner library to the joint project "AG Sammlung Deutscher Drucke", in which it is responsible for the period from 1913 on. As part of the programme "Verteilte Digitale Forschungsbibliothek" , sponsored by the DFG to digitally preserve endangered library materials, German National Library's work has ensured the long-term preservation and accessibility of exile periodicals. The effort simultaneously represents a contribution to the project "Bibliotheca universalis", which has received the support of the Conference of Ministers of the seven leading industrial nations (G7).

Digitised content can be used online and on the German National Library premises in Leipzig and Frankfurt am Main.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Head of the German Exile Archive 1933-1945, Dr. Sylvia Asmus, if you have any further questions.
