The use of new artificial intelligence (AI) techniques opens up further possibilities for finding relevant content.
In the eighth workshop, we will be looking at how these techniques can be used sensibly for the purposes of subject cataloguing. How can even more media works be provided with metadata and how can the interaction between man and machine be made more efficient? How can we succeed in generating high-quality subject indexing metadata on a permanent basis that supports researchers in their literature searches through intelligent retrieval control while also opening up opportunities to provide precise research corpora for researchers?
The focus will continue to be on the use of high-quality authority data, subject headings from the GND (Gemeinsame Normdatei), classifications such as BK (Basisklassifikation), DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification) and RVK (Regensburger Verbundklassifikation) and their vectorization and interconnectedness. Tools such as DA-3, GND-Explorer, Coli-ana etc. already play a major role in the use of (AI) machine results and support intellectual expertise. The subsequent DA-3 user meeting will again offer the opportunity to exchange experiences and new ideas.
The workshop is organised by the German National Library, the Austrian Library Network, Eurospider Information Technology AG, Stuttgart University Library and the Berlin State Library – Prussian Cultural Heritage in cooperation with the Library Service Centre Baden-Württemberg.
We will not be recording the event for data privacy reasons. When you register, you enter into a binding agreement not to take any pictures or make any audio recordings of your own.
The workshop programme is published on our Wiki.
