The German National Library will be closed at both locations due to a staff meeting. The exhibitions of the German Museum of Books and Writing in Leipzig will open from 10:00 to 18:00. The exhibitions of the German Exile Archive 1933-1945 in Frankfurt will be closed.

What does the status of my uploaded data packet/my union-catalogue-ID search mean?

The following statuses may be indicated after uploading the data packet:

  • angelegt:

    • The title list has been successfully uploaded, the comparison will start automatically

  • in Bearbeitung:

    • The comparison has begun, this can take several hours depending on the scope of the title list/the quantity of uploaded files

  • abgeschlossen:

    • The results can be viewed; all titles have been compared

  • abgeschlossen: Nicht alle Titeldaten konnten verarbeitet werden:

    • the results can be viewed; individual titles could not be compared (the reasons for this might be e.g. erroneous individual data sets or a one-word title that produces too many potential matches during the comparison).

The following error messages might also be generated:

  • Unzulässiges Dateiformat: Bitte überprüfen Sie, ob Sie eine XML-Datei hochgeladen haben. (Please check that you have uploaded an XML file.)
  • Hochgeladene Daten nicht lesbar. Bitte überprüfen Sie, ob die MARC-Daten vollständig und das XML-Format valide sind. (Please check that the MARC data are complete and the XML format is valid.)
  • Maximum von 1.000 Titeln überschritten (The limit of 1,000 titles has been exceeded.)
