Regeln für die Schlagwortkatalogisierung (RSWK)
The Regeln für die Schlagwortkatalogisierung (German rules for cataloguing by subject headings), referred to as RSWK, are the basis used for intellectual cataloguing with subject headings in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland. The cataloguing standard is developed and maintained cooperatively by the library networks in the German-speaking countries under the aegis of the German National Library. The first edition was published in 1986, the fourth, currently valid edition in 2017.
The RSWK will be undergoing essential revision over the next few years to facilitate the changeover to Resource Description and Access (RDA) and accommodate new subject cataloguing requirements.
