Scores and sheet music

Scores and sheet music

The German Music Archive’s systematic sheet music collection comprises scores and sheet music published in Germany after 1943. The collection contains both printed and digital editions. It also contains significantly older items that were acquired as gifts or from purchasing estates. Scans of the content pages of many editions are freely accessible online.

Bonner Katalog

Notensatz "Stabat Mater" von Gioachino Rossini für Soli, Chor und Orchester

The Bonn Catalogue is a closed directory of musical performance material dating from 1959 to 2022.
It contains information on all the scores and sheet music lent by German music publishers for musical performances and productions against signature of a bond (an undertaking by the performer only to use the music for the purpose cited). The index contains extensive information about the scoring and playing time of works from more than 200 music publishers.
Since 1959, the “Bonner Katalog” has been an important tool for scientific institutions, music colleges, music libraries, broadcasting companies, record producers, and copyright companies and collectives that eliminates the need for time-consuming research in individual catalogues.
The “Bonner Katalog” is edited and continually updated by the German Music Archive in cooperation with the music publishers’ association Deutscher Musikverleger-Verband e.V.
