Due to maintenance work the German Museum of Books and Writing will be closed from 12 to 19 January 2026.

The exhibitions curated by the German Museum of Books and Writing at the German National Library provide an interdisciplinary overview of book and media history. This is based on the Museum’s multifarious collections and on current social issues. They are curated in exhibition projects undertaken in cooperation with diverse partners and showcased in three different exhibition rooms with the aim of making maximum public impact. The archive encompasses all the exhibitions held by the Museum since it moved into the German National Library’s fourth annex in 2012.
