24 December 2025 to 1 January 2026: The German National Library will be closed at both locations. The exhibitions of the German Exile Archive 1933–1945 will also be closed. The exhibitions of the German Museum of Books and Writing will open from 10:00 to 18:00 on 27, 28 and 30 December.

The exhibitions curated by the German Museum of Books and Writing at the German National Library provide an interdisciplinary overview of book and media history. This is based on the Museum’s multifarious collections and on current social issues. They are curated in exhibition projects undertaken in cooperation with diverse partners and showcased in three different exhibition rooms with the aim of making maximum public impact. The archive encompasses all the exhibitions held by the Museum since it moved into the German National Library’s fourth annex in 2012.
