Lessons learned at the museum – the digital programme of the German Museum of Books and Writing

A boost for digitisation during the pandemic year: the German Museum of Books and Writing at the German National Library was unable to welcome visitors for many months. Instead, the Museum used this time to try out new communication formats. By publishing new topics on different channels, it succeeded in reaching a digital public, some of whom were new.

Digital access to the St. Elizabeth manuscript

One of the greatest treasures in the collection of the German Museum of Books and Writing has now been made available to the public for digital viewing. The unique manuscript on the life of St. Elizabeth of Thuringia, which dates back to 1481, can now be browsed virtually. (Ill. from: Dietrich von Apolda: Leben der Heiligen Elisabeth, Freiburg i.
