“Reich-Ranicki in criticism - A controversial quartet discusses his work“
To celebrate the opening of the temporary exhibition "Marcel Reich-Ranicki. One Life, Many Roles", the German Exile Archive 1933–1945 invited four renowned literary critics to the German National Library in Frankfurt am Main for a critical and entertaining debate.
On 23 June 2022, Elke Heidenreich, Hubert Spiegel, Volker Weidermann and Uwe Wittstock discussed the published works of their famous colleague. They talked about Reich-Ranicki’s books “Herz, Arzt und Literatur” (1987), “Lauter Verrisse” (1970), “Meine Schulzeit im Dritten Reich” (1982), “Thomas Mann und die Seinen” (1987) as well as his autobiography “Mein Leben” (1999). Audio recording of the event (only available in German)
